We recently discovered that "Three-Dimensional Sandwich Clusters (The Rice-Ball Clusters)" can be chemically synthesizable and isolable. In this new class of organometallic clusters, a subnano-sized metal agglomerate cluster is surrounded by cyclic unsaturated hydrocarbon ligands.

We recently synthesized "METAL SHEET SANDWICH COMPLEXES" composed of aromatic carbon sheets and a metal sheet. It has been disclosed that monocyclic and polycyclic unsaturated hydrocarbons act as the binder for the metal sheets.

We also recently designed and synthesized "ORGANOMETALLIC SANDWICH CHAINS"
as one-dimensionally extended organometallic sandwich compounds. Very unique properties such as photo-induced face inversion of polyene ligands on a metal chain were discovered.

The chemistry of HIGHLY REACTIVE Palladium Complexes and Clusters has been developed.
These Pd or Pd-Pd complexes will show interesting stoichiometric and catalytic reactivity.
For example, we revealed the reaction manner with 1,3-diene, alkyne, amine, alcohol, etc. Furthermore, we recently developed the thermal E to Z isomerization of 1,3-dienes by utilizing the unique reactivity of a Pd-Pd complex.
